Kalia Lay

Kalia will be performing with the Cecilia Chorus of New York for their 2023 holiday concert honoring the 75th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Composer Daron Hagen's new work (and Cecilia commission) Everyone, Everywhere mixes passages from the Declaration together with the words of historic human rights activists Mahatma Gandhi, Nelson Mandela, Eleanor Roosevelt, and others. Hagen’s cantata is paired with Ralph Vaughan-Williams’s Dona Nobis Pacem in what is being called "an evening of music that brings the world we seek into view."

In honor of this event, United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Türk will introduce the program.
